Born in Osaka, September 5, 1981.
At the age of 14, he converted from the baritone saxophone which he had been playing in wind ensemble to the electric bass.
Straight after graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles and admitted to LAMA (Los Angeles Music Academy). In LAMA, he studied under Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets), Phil Chen (Jeff Beck, Bob Marley), Ed Lucie (Buddy Rich, Stevie Wonder), Jerry Watts Jr. (Andy Summers, Dave Stewart), Hussain Jiffry (Sergio Mendes, Yanni).
At the age of 20, he recorded his first leader album “Footprints”. It was released from his own label “Peace of Cake” and received many favors.
Soon after, he applied and received scholarship from Berklee College of Music in Boston and majored Jazz Composition. Besides from studying composition and arranging, he had his hands on many live performances and recordings. This was the time he had the opportunities to perform with Steve Hunt (Allan Holdsworth), Bryan Baker (Steps Ahead).
In 2009, he performed in a musical presented in off-Broadway called “TALK LIKE SINGING” (written and directed by Kōki Mitani) as a member of “TRI4TH”. The musical starred Shingo Katori and Yasuharu Konishi was the musical director.
In 2012, his second leader album “Live at Last Waltz” (Shinpei Ruike, Yuya Komoguchi, Hideo Yamaki, Akira Inoue) was released from Shiosai.
He is also recognized as a devoting fisherman. His own record of Largemouth Bass is 26 inches (caught in Florida)!!
